African Union: Agenda 2063
International Teaching Partnerships
1MT is proud to be associated with the African Union’s Agenda 2063, Africa’s blueprint and the master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the continent’s strategic framework that aims to deliver on its goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance. Agenda 2063 aligns with our SDP projects, particularly SDG 4, 5, 8, 9, and 17.
We are lucky to have Dr. Beatrice Njenga as chair of the 1MT’s African Union Agenda 2063 project. Dr. Njenga is former Head, Education Division, Department of Human Resources, Science and Technology at the African Union Commission. She was also Acting Head of the Youth Development Division of the Commission. She was instrumental for the adoption and implementation of key policies and strategies in Africa including the Second Decade of Education, the establishment of the Pan African Universities and the Continental Education Strategy.
